As most of you are aware, our own Senator Bill Cassidy is co sponsoring a bill to replace Obamacare. In an interview yesterday with710 KEEL’s Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty, he explained the bill, saying that it give resources to the working families to buy their own insurance. We don’t give the money to the insurance company, we give it to the family.”
The entire interview can be found here.
In a new development that surprises no one, Senator Cassidy bill is now catching criticism from a famous Hollywood celebrity: Jimmy Kimmel. on his show last night, Kimmel slammed Cassidy saying that guy, Bill Cassidy,
he just lied right to my face For lots of people, the bill will result in higher premiums. bless his little heart. It moving to know that the Obamacare fan club is so deeply concerned that health care premiums are effecting peoples pocket books.
In the same monologue, Kimmel said that his son had recently had open heart surgery. He went on to say that under the Cassidy Graham bill, child with a preexisting condition will get the care he needs if, and only if, his father is Jimmy Kimmel. Otherwise, you might be screwed. the critics basic argument against the Cassidy bill can be summed up as will skyrocket and children will suffer. That a compelling, completely original argument that has never been used by any politician ever in the history of the world.
If you sense sarcasm in that statement,
congratulations on being perceptive.
What Mr. Kimmel (and others like him) don realize is that under Obamacare, premiums are already sky high and kids with pre existing conditions are already struggling to get coverage. The nightmare scenario that Kimmel presented is already happening under the very bill he is defending.
In a recent press conference where he discussed the bill, Cassidy mentioned my friend Moon Griffon.
will use the example of a fellow named Moon Griffon, who is a talk show host in Louisiana. He is a self employed person. Moon got a special needs child. Moon premium per year is over $40,000, with a $5,000 deductible and an additional pharmaceutical deductible. Think about that. He is going to pay $50,000 a year between his premiums and his deductibles.
If you are a regular Moon Griffon listener (and you should be) you no doubt heard about how his health care costs have soared since the introduction of Obamacare. On his show,
Mr Griffon has stated that if they continue to climb, he will not be able to pay for both his home mortgage and his health care costs.
He currently contemplating selling his current home that he paying a mortgage on and paying cash for a house that is smaller in order to make ends meet. This is just one example of how Obamacare is driving down the American standard of living.
Jimmy Kimmel is telling horror stories about what happen to the children, and about how peoples health care premiums will soar if the Cassidy Graham bill is passed.
Well, the pain and suffering that Mr. Kimmel outlined in his speech is already happening.
Over a month ago, myself and thousands of other Denham Springs residents had their homes flooded. Since then, we have been gutting homes and letting them dry out and are at the point where we can start rebuilding.
The pure hell of fighting a bungling and incompetent city hall has us longing for the days back inAugust when we were fighting the flood waters ravaging our homes.
Many Denham Srpings residents are being faced with the nightmare prospect of being forced to elevate their homes. The truly horrifying aspect in all of this is that it based on an idiotic and arbitrary formula.
In order to rebuild their homes, those with more than 18 inches of water must apply for a permit.
In order to obtain the permit, you must present
A). An estimate by a licensed contractor and
B). Your property value assessment from the tax assessor office.
If the contractor estimate is greater than 50 percent of your home value on the tax assessment,
then you may be forced to elevate your home.
The idiocy of all this should be obvious to anyone with a brain larger than the size of an atom.
The dollar value attached to your house on your tax assessor document is, in most cases substantially less than what your house would actually sell for.
Estimates by contractors will vary wildly depending on the contractor; it completely random and arbitrary number.
NOTE: If you work for, or are otherwise an apologist for the abomination known as Srpings City Hall, save your breath. Don dare try to tell me that any of this is untrue.
Every word of this came straight from the horses mouth. I spoke with someone at city hall face to face.
Seeking tospread the message of school choice, the Franklin Center invited a vast collection of bloggersfrom every state. I was among hose bloggers privileged enough to attend, andI found the information presented to be incredibly insightful.
My original intenthad beento write my first blog entry immediately after the conference ended, but that right around the time when I learned that my house was under water 1,
300 miles away and that I would not be able to get a flight home for several days.
Suddenly it was very hard to blog. It wasmuch easier towalk downtown and drown my sorrows at the infamous Coyote Ugly Saloonand that pretty much what I did.
